Police in Kanungu have in custody one Byamukama Vian a 33-year-old resident of Rurama cell Rwekyende parish Kihanda S/C in Kanungu district over the murder of his 63-year-old father, Kasuka Gabriel.
he incident occurred on Sunday evening at around 22:00hrs at the home of the suspect.
It is alleged that the suspect came back home drunk at around 2100hrs and started beating his wife one Namanya Adera, without any reasonable cause.
Elly Maate the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson says the wife made an alarm which attracted the father in law and his wife Kyarimpa Jane who are their immediate neighbors.
The duo rushed to their son's home and found the two fighting inside their house. They pushed the door open and the wife of the suspect ran away leaving the deceased behind which prompted the son to transfer his anger to his father and shattered his head with piece of wood and bricks leading to his death.
Police led by OC kirima police post visited the scene and immediately arrested the prime suspect who was trying to run away after killing his farther.
The suspect is in custody at Kanungu Police station.
