Shocking details have emerged on how 19-year-old Makerere University student, Desire Mirembe Jemimah, was slaughtered in cold-blood by unknown assailants during the weekend.
Jemimah was raped, beheaded and her body later thrown in the Kawolo Sugar Plantation. Mirembe was a student of “Speech and Language therapy” the most expensive course in Makerere University under college of Health Sciences, Mulago.
The second year went missing on her way to Jinja after short prayers at her place of worship, The Phaneroo Fellowship that takes place every Thursday at the MTN Arena in Lugogo.
On Saturday night, she sent her mother a text message informing her that she was stranded in Jinja and needed some cash. That was the last time her mother heard from her.
Days after she went missing, friends and family had created a hashtag as a way of raising awareness about Mirembe. Everyone was urged to post on social media with the hashtag #FindDesire.
However, yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon, the news of Desire’s body being found broke started hitting friends in their Whatsapp groups. Sad messages started going around from family relatives that:
She was found dead at 3:50pm at a morgue in Kawolo, Lugazi and that the 19-year-old beautiful Jemimah was raped and beheaded as confirmed by a family member who prefers to remain anonymous.
