A Buhweju Tea Factory FUSO—number UAK 908R—has rolled over a cliff in Buhweju district after failing to negotiate a sharp corner about 7PM today June, 27.

The vehicle's driver had just finished his shift and was going home in Ishaka to spend the weekend. He decided to pass by a near market to load the tea factory vehicle with passengers and their luggage for extra cash.

The driver, identified as Muhumuza Mutima, overloaded the vehicle, we are being told that he carried over 40 passengers plus the luggage.

As the vehicle reached Nyakitoko - Nyakashaka, it failed to negotiate a bend, knocked a hill, overturned and rolled down the valley with all the passengers still on board.

Law enforcement sources confirm to us that the accident was fatal and that many people were injured severely. The victims have been taken to KIU teaching hospital for treatment.

No report claiming any deaths has been released yet, and when we asked, we were told the information is still withheld as there is no proof of a number yet.
