A YouTube star, who recently revealed that doctors discovered she has two vaginas, has taken to her popular video channel to answer her fans’ burning questions about her rare condition, including whether or not this medical anomaly is responsible for the chronic acne that made her famous.

In April, Cassandra Bankson, who runs beauty-focused YouTube channel DiamondsAndHeels14, told her 790,000 subscribers that doctors made the discovery that she had just one kidney but two vaginas, two wombs and two cervixes after she complained of lower back pain.

The 22-year-old, from San Francisco, set up her channel four years ago to offer advise on everything from living with severe acne, to make-up tips and how to deal with bullies. And now she is using the medium to shed light on the condition, uterus didelphys, which is known as double uterus, and occurs because the uterus begins growing as two small tubes, rather than one.

Cassandra, who also works as a model, explains at the start of the video that she has chosen to discuss her condition because she is hoping that other people who were born with this medical anomaly can shed some light on the condition that there isn’t a lot of research on.

‘Maybe there are other people out there who are dealing with this and feel embarrassed, or alone, or weird or different and it’s just a medical anomaly,’ she says. ‘I guess my life is a little public on here. It’s kind of my way of therapy I guess.’

Cassandra’s YouTube channel became a success when she began making videos about her chronic acne and how she covers it up – with her most popular clip gaining over 25 million views.

And after she announced that she was diagnosed as having two vaginas, many fans wondered if the condition was the cause of the acne that started to appear when she was only eight or nine years old.

‘I was born with two things. Does that automatically mean I will have acne? No. If I was born with an extra toe, would that mean I have acne? No,’ she says. ‘Just because I was born this way, just having that, does not cause acne.’

As for her vaginal health, Cassanda says she has yet to have a pap smear but noted that she will need to get two to check for cervical cancer in each of her vaginas.

She notes that she should look into what age she should get one at because not only does cancer run in her family, but her one of her great grandmothers died of uterine born cancer and the other died of ‘mysterious vaginal bleeding in the Ukraine’.

‘There is obviously a lot of family, genetic weird stuff going on this area,’ she says, gesturing towards her pelvic region.

Many fans were curious to know if she will eventually be able to have children and Cassandra honestly explains that she doesn’t know.
