Barely one week after a South African pastor was seen making his church members drink disinfectants 'with faith' that it would heal them, he has been seen purchasing more.

Pastor Rufus Phala who is the general overseer of the AK Spiritual Christian Church in Makgodu, Limpopo, South Africa, made headlines when he was seen giving members of his congregation disinfectants to drink, for their 'healing'.

When asked the reason behind his logic, he reportedly said “I know Dettol is harmful, but God instructed me to use it. I was the first one to drink it.”

Ignoring the controversy surrounding his decision, Pastor Phala was recently seen purchasing more bottles of the disinfectant which he had planned to use during his service on Sunday, December 11, due to the 'success' of the previous service. He reportedly said:

"After last week’s service I have been receiving amazing testimony from members of my church."

Despite warnings from Dettol in South Africa, the pastor has gone ahead to continue his practice. Here's what Euphemia Annor, the regional legal director of Dettol South Africa, said when contacted:

"Dettol has been proved to be safe and effective when used as per recommended directions; however it is not for human consumption and is for external use only. We are against Prophet Phala using the product inappropriately."
