Police Kabale have in custody Chrais Ninsiima, a student at African International Christian Ministries-AICM College of Science and Technology for attempted murder.
Ninsiima is held for stabbing her schoolmate, Macklin Ninsiima several times on Wednesday at around 10:00pm night at the College Girl's Hostel in Rushambya cell in Kirigime ward, Kabale Municipality.
An eye witness, Mercy Atuhaire, asserts that Ninsiima stabbed her victim several times on the face using a knife accusing her of snatching her boyfriend only identified as Innocent.
According to Atuhaire, the duo was very good friends but broke up because the victim encroached on the former’s territory.
Sarah Tumuhairwe, the College Nurse who was called in to save the victim says she found her unconscious.
She rushed to check after hearing a lot of noise from the students as others rushed to get her to the scene.
Tumuhairwe says that she immediately notified police, which rushed to the scene. Bishop Enock Kayeye, the founder of African International Christian Ministries-AICM College of Science and Technology, says the victim was rushed to Rugarama hospital in critical condition.
Ely Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, says investigations into the matter are ongoing under police file number CRB2990/2016.
The suspect declined to comment on the matter
