Matovu Douglas,popularly known by his stage name Tovie las, is a Ugandan reggae artist,afrobeat,writer,actor and musician.Tovie las sings in Luganda and English, He was born and grew up in Gayaza kampala the capital city of Uganda.

Matovu began his music career in 2019 and  recorded two songs under "(riddim base)" After he released "Tusomese" in 2022 as his first single,often with a socially conscious message,He was inspired by break down of schools due to  corona virus which was a threat to all nations.

Tovie las is also a film actor starring in local movies. In 2022,he was cast in "Ekikolimo mu maka".
