Formed in Kampala, UG in 2004, Destiny-1 stepped in the tradition of African boy duo bands like Kingsley&Phila, P.Square and Good Lyfe.Like the three groups, Destiny-1 was assembled through a series of church choirs and festivals in Kampala, UG. The core of Destiny-1 was comprised of Kasasa Godffrey, Kimera Denis, and Johnson, both of whom hailed from Kampala, Uganda. The three began singing in local church and festivals while they were teens, performing hip-hop and R&B songs in the style of Lecrae, Phila, Kingsley and Papason. Three of the band other members, Kasozi Mathias, Kelly Dénis and Mukisa Patrick, were natives of Namasuba, Kampala, Ug, who met the band as well as transplanted New Hits in church festivals getting close to the group by 2001. At one festival, the three discovered that they shared affection for Music and could harmonize well together with the band. Inspired, they formed a meeting with the band pioneers to discuss about a collaboration and this was during the season when Kelly Dénis was doing up a Christmas Hit with his long time friend named Joel and the hit was released and later performed on the church organized concert. With the help of Kimera Denis who was the Director of the band by that time and a brother to Kasozi Mathias, the three Kasozi Mathias, Kelly Dénis, and Mukisa Patrick had to join the band and by the beginning of 2004 (Official band Formation) they had already been pronounced as Destiny-1 members, with the wide band as it had become, hits like "Never Give Up", "Restoration", "Merry X-mass", and "Everyday" were released and had to make an expansion to the existence of the band. In the meantime, some of the band members Kasasa Godfrey, Kimera Denis, and Johnson found career a distance away and had to depart from the band as they thought it was going to be for a short time and from then the band was left in the direction of Kelly Dénis and management of Kasozi Martin together with Mukisa Patrick who fought very hard to settle the band and by 2005 the band had composed a number of hits which were now ready for recording. The band struck immediately after its new recorded jazz hit "Born Now" led on by Kelly Dénis a saxophonist and drum player, after then "Evening Night"also a jazz hit, "Ossanidde" in 2008, "Ghetto Gwan" in 2009 and these pushed the existence of the band till 2010 when one of the band members"Kasozi Martin" had to break off then the band remained to stand on Kelly Dénis and Mukisa Patrick up to date.In 2012, the Destiny-1 re-formed and began work on a new album. The result, "Oh Lord" which is still under recording in Kish Records and JBP Records. Some of the singles under the album include “Mama Don’t Cry”, “Oh Lord”, “Beera Nange”, “As I Am”, which are playing on local radio stations and soon coming on global stations. Destiny-1 is preparing the Album for release and it's estimated to contain 12 songs.“We always aim reaching the highest top of Reggae Music all around the continent,” says Kelly Dénis. “That’s always been our objective, to be the greatest warriors in the reggae, Jazz, R&B and Dance-Hall cave of the almighty God (Jah).”“Our goal is always to push ourselves as much as possible,”adds Patrick. “We’re always working to become better reggae musicians, singers, and soul transformer through our music. ““We also have it as our vision to promote the young generation talents towards the gospel side of music and this is going to be done under our charity to come up soon and music company (Destiny-1 Music Entertainment) which started in August 2013, totally for talented young brains which lack a chance in tomorrow's entertainment future.”With “Destiny-1[No Jesus, No Life]” that Name has just been raised to the most high!Social Links:http://www.facebook.com/Destiny1Mischttp://www.myspace.com/Destiny1Mischttps://www.twitter.com/Destiny1Mischttps://soundcloud.com/destiny1mischttp://www.youtube.com/Destiny1Mischttp://www.discogs.com/artist/3471007-Destiny-1
