Team Sudi captained by Uganda Christian University (UCU) Canons ace Sudi Ulanga mase a triumphant maiden to the Friday Night Lights (FNL) basketball tournament last night.
After three weeks of huffing and puffing, Tanzanian national team star Sudi Ulanga lived up to his word and scored 32 points to hand a 62-37 victory over defending champions Team Malinga.
The other debutant Team Duxx, headed by the high flying rebounder Steven Mwesigye aka Duxx fell to 54-46 beating by seasoned participants Team Komakech. Ben Komakech (KB08) scored 17 points and Jonn Majok added 14 points and 10 rebounds to hand debutants Team Duxx a baptism of fire. Steven ‘Duxx’ Tumwesigye led his team with 12 points and Peter Senfuka added 9 points.
Performances from comedian Patrick ‘Salvador’ Edringi and Young Mulo further spiced up the Season 4 of the FNL season premiere at YMCA though the night lacked the usual pomp created by flashy Team LK4, known for fielding top celebrities after the captain Isaac Luggudde relocated to South Africa.
