David De Gea has signed a new five-year contract to stay at Manchester United, according to SportMediaset Italy.

United have been desperate to keep De Gea at Old Trafford following strong interest from Real Madrid.

Despite speculation that the 24-year-old had agreed a summer switch to the Bernabeu, reports suggest he has agreed to stay at United until 2020.

It is thought De Gea will earn around £140,000-a-week in the new terms of his contract, becoming the highest paid goalkeeper in the world.
