Arjen Robben was instrumental in helping Bayern to the league and cup double for a stunning third time in five seasons, the winger was a stand-out performer in the Netherlands World Cup run to the semi-finals.

CM:Toni Kroos – Real Madrid (Germany)

The 25 year old was another key player in Bayern Munich’s re-writing of the history books in their double winning season.

LM: Angel di Maria – Manchester United (Argentina)

Angel di Maria’s final season with Real Madrid ended in Champions League glory with the midfielder putting in a man of the match performance in the final.

Attack: 

RW: Leo Messi – Barcelona (Argentina)

The Argentinian became the Spanish giant’s record goalscorer, as well as the top El Classico scorer. Was named player of the tournament for the 2014 World Cup, helping Argentina to their first World Cup final in since 1990.

LW: Cristiano Ronaldo – Real Madrid (Portugal)

Cristiano Ronaldo surpassed 30 goals for the fourth successive La Liga season in 2013/14, scoring 17 goals in the Champions League to help Real Madrid to the title for a tenth time. The Portugal star beat Neuer and Robben to the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award in August.

FC: Zlatan Ibrahimovic – PSG (Swedan)

Ibrahimovic helped PSG to win Ligue 1 title and the Champions League quarter-finals and scoring 41 goals in the 2013/14 season, with ten coming in Europe. Won his 100th cap for Sweden in September after becoming the first Sweden player to net 50 goals.
