Chelsea underlined their Premier League title credentials with a comfortable 3-1 win over new boys Burnley at Turf Moor on Monday.
After falling behind to a stunning early strike from Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield, Jose Mourinho's side slipped through the gears to dish out a top-flight lesson to their newly promoted hosts - with new signings Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas shining.
Striker Costa opened his Premier League account with an equaliser just three minutes after Arfield's opener, and former Arsenal captain Fabregas laid on goals for Andre Schurrle and Branislav Ivanovic before the break.
Thibaut Courtois made his debut in the Chelsea goal after being selected ahead of long-term number one

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger says the prestige of playing in the Champions League is more important than the financial rewards it brings.
The Gunners, who have reached the group stage for the last 16 seasons, meet Besiktas in Tuesday's play-off first leg in Turkey.
Defender Kieran Gibbs, 24, is out for three weeks with a hamstring injury.
Gibbs was hurt in Saturday's 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, Arsenal's opening match of the Premier League season. Nacho Monreal will be a likely replacement.
Striker Yaya Sanogo will not be in the starting line-up, but central defender Laurent Koscielny is fit after recovering from an Achilles problem.
Qualification to the Champions League group stages will bring Arsenal £6.8m in prize money, with each subsequent group match worth about £2.4m of additional match-day revenue.
The play-off second leg takes place at the Emirates on Wednesday, 27 August.

Celtic will meet Maribor in the Champions League play-off round after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) rejected Legia Warsaw's bid to be provisionally reinstated.
Legia beat Celtic 6-1 in the third qualifying round but Uefa punished them for fielding a suspended player.
It meant their 2-0 second-leg win was overturned to 3-0 in Celtic's favor.
Cas has denied Legia's appeal for "provisional measures" to be taken, but will continue to arbitrate on the case.
It means Celtic manager Ronny Deila can now focus fully on the two-legged Champions League play-off against Slovenia's Maribor on Wednesday and next Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Legia Warsaw drop into the Europa League, where they will play Aktobe in Kazakhstan on Thursday.

Norwich City defender Martin Olsson has been banned for a further three games for placing his hand on a referee.
The Football Association found Olsson, 26, guilty of misconduct for making physical contact with Simon Cooper in the opening-day defeat by Wolves.
He appeared to touch the chest of Cooper prior to his 60th-minute sending off after receiving a second yellow card for a foul on Rajiv van La Parra.
Norwich will not be appealing against the decision

Crystal Palace have been fined by the Premier League for their involvement in last season's so-called 'spygate' incident with Cardiff City.
Palace beat Cardiff 3-0 in April only for the Welsh side to complain that their starting line-up had been leaked to their London rivals.
Palace, who were managed by Tony Pulis, denied any wrongdoing.
The maximum fine for such offenses is £25,000 but the Premier League has not said how much Palace must pay.
Both Palace and Cardiff, who were relegated last season, say they will not be making any comment.

TENNIS

Defending champion Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the US Open with an injury to his right wrist.
The world number two suffered the injury in training on 29 July, and missed two warm-up tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati.
Nadal has not competed since he was beaten by Australian teenager Nick Kyrgios in the fourth round at Wimbledon on 1 July.
He announced late last month that he would not be defending either his Rogers Cup title in Toronto or his Western & Southern Open crown in Cincinnati.
