Comedy Store boss, Alex Muhangi has defended the use of filthy language at the Comedy Store saying that audiences enjoy such jokes more than anything else.

“We get comedians to make people laugh. And a comedian should employ every skill to ensure that happens otherwise if our ratings fall, we go packing,” he said.

“We don’t allow people who are below 18 to our shows, so anything can pass for adults. We only cut out parts with vulgarity or mature content when posting online or on TV,” he explained.

Issues like the quality of the jokes need to be addressed in the industry.

Many comedians, mostly stand-up comics turn their jokes to be tribalistic, sexual, appearance, gender based, vulgar, political, and residential among others. Although many are successful and happy while at it, success is coming at the expense of creativity and morality.
