Masaka businessman Emmanuel Lwasa is a well-known gold dealer.
But it seems he is also involved in dirty business transactions.
He was recently arrested over the forgery of signatures of the acting Director of Geological survey and mines (Ag. D/GSM) Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Mrs. Alaba Agnes, and that of Ms. Grace Lajwe, the Principal Chemist Directorate of Geological survey and mines (DGSM) in his fraudulent transactions using his two companies.
Afande Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed that Lwasa was arrested at Najja Shopping Centre in Najjanankumbi on Monday evening and detained at Jinja Road Police station.
By press time, Lwasa was still behind bars.
