After several complaints to the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) about the uncensored information churned out by presenters of different gossip shows, the regulating body directed a change in programming time.
The shows that usually aired between 7:30 pm to 8 pm were moved to 10 pm. The shows have since dropped in viewership and sponsorship.
They include Uncut on Sanyuka TV and Live wire on Spark TV. It is alleged the hosts of Live wire are threatening to resign due to low pay.
Comedian Dr. T Amale thinks this mess was started by Uncut host Kaiyz.
According to T. Amale, if Kaiyz was professional in executing his duties, UCC would have never thought about interrupting the shows.
“This is all because of Kaiyz’s unprofessionalism. He failed to listen to advice and UCC acted,” he said in an interview.
Dr. T Amale went ahead to sympathize with journalists that are likely to lose their jobs because few people watch the shows.
