Vampino and Benon worked as a duo between 2000 and 2009 but they parted ways later. Vampino joined Kiwundo Top Talent record label before becoming a solo artist while Benon settled at Swangz Avenue a record label they co-founded.

Swangz Avenue gave birth to a number of their hit songs like "Whistle Song", "Mr. DJ", "I love you" among others

When the city businessman Julius Kyazze joined the studio as an investor to turn the recording studio into a big record label, Vampino found his way out.

According to a close pal, the “smart wire” hitmaker was compensated with over Shs 50M for his contribution.

But Vampino has always avoided the Swangz Avenue talk because he thinks he betrayed himself. He regrets not being part of the success and growth of the label.

During a recent interview with a popular YouTuber, Vampino talked about his memories at Swangz Avenue. He is said he is happy to witness it’s a success despite being on the sidelines.

“I started Swangz Avenue. I am happy with what it has become,” he said.

Swangz Avenue is currently the biggest record label in Uganda. It boosts talents like Azawi, Winnie Nwagi, Vinka among others. They also recently ventured into production, events, and marketing. It is owned by Benon Mugumbya and Kyazze Julius.
