A number of our local celebrities like Jose Chameleone, Zari Hussein and the recent attempt with Rema Namakula kissing on the lips 2-year-old daughter Amaal has caused controversial reactions from the public.

The question is when should a parent directly kiss directly on the lips, how long will this last. Is it right or wrong?

It's either way, but the writer thinks it's wrong, depending on today's lifestyle and other health attachment.

Here is what i think...

It creates confusion. Kids at 4 years start responding to sexual stimuli and kissing on the lips causes confusion to them on who to kiss. These kids see dad and mum kissing and then the same parents kisses them, when they try it out kissing their agemates at school they end up being pounded.

Cultural differences, this might be okay to certain norms and customs of different tribes. The Ugandan cultural probabaly limits us to only hugging to express love for our parents and siblings. Kissing is affection for people in a sexual relationship.

Transfer infections, as adults we at times carriers of different diseases. Kissing your baby might transfer some of these killer illnesses like syphillis, Menegitis, whooping cough that can be infectious through saliva. Some mothers and fathers do oral sex and after transfer the dirty lips to their children.

However, some have argued this saying its a way of showing love to their kids. The age also matters, ages below 3 might be very okay because they cant even interpret the acton.
