Prim Asiimwe is the mind blowing female voice on the Evening rush show that she co-hosts with veteran Mr. Mosh and dreaded Ghetto gladiator Lyto Joe. The slender tall beautiful Muchwezi first sneaked into the public image in 2012 when she contested in the National Miss Ugandan championship and since then her character has remained unique, elegant and yet still very humble woman.

Who is Prim Asiimwe?

My name is Prim Asiimwe Aliguma. I went to Asaba primary school in Masindi for 7yrs, Masindi High School for 6yrs then enrolled to Ndejje University but unfortunately I didn't complete my degree. However I’m currently a student at Stafford University Uganda studying Journalism, Public Relations & Advertising. I hail from Hoima but I was born and raised in Masindi in a family of six sisters and one brother.

Why did you fail to complete your studies at Ndejje University?

Laughs loud… Thing is I got busy at some point and motherhood came in round about the same time but yea am good to go now.

Is doing radio all you grew up wanting to do?

In my head, I have done radio all my life, I presented to myself in my head every day! (Signing out was my favourite part) I loved loved loved being on radio some day and finally 100. 2 Galaxy FM is the job.

What’s a day like for Prim Assimwe?

My day starts very early and ends very early, I leave my house 20mins to 7am in the morning rushing to catch my first lecture and by 2pm am done with school and then head straight to Galaxy FM.  After work, I have one place on my mind, home and if Alex wants to take me out for dinner he ought to book earlier.

You look smart, what’s the great sense of fashion?

Great sense of fashion, haha thanks you! I love and live for Street style so if it flatters me and it's comfortable, I’ll wear it.

You’re a kind of character on radio who throws a lot of English lines and why the broken Luganda?

Hahahaha, like I told you, me I only came to Kampala to join Ndejje university. My Luganda is not any good really but I'm getting there actually I have improved greatly, last year around this time i could not even put together a correct sentence…Naye Kati ndi muzibu nyo.(laughs at herself)

Anyone you grew up idolizing in the radio circle?

Not really idolizing, but if you asked me, the guy I grew up listening to on radio is stuck on a radio station in Masindi. He is Keith Moses, one guy that made me love radio even more.

If Prim Asiimwe wasn't on radio, what would she be up to?

This is a fact that most people don’t know but Prim would probably be a serious farmer somewhere in Masindi. My Dad's love for farming spilled unto me as well.

What’s that one habit that you have carried with you since child hood?

Hoooo! Sleeping early like chicken is that habit I can't seem to get rid of.  I do dance a lot without music on and many people find it funny.

Prim of 5 years from now and how best should we remember her.

Future goals are massive! I'll surprise you soon. I'm working on a few projects here and there that I consider private for now. One day, everyone will respect and remember Prim for breathing new life into radio! Fun and funky.
