The most recent parliament eject, now former Kamuli Municipality MP Rehema Watongola has promised to return, campaign and retain her seat in the 10th Parliament.

The Court of Appeal last Tuesday ejected Watongola from the prestigious house over lack of academic qualification. According to the court, Watongola does not have an A-level certificate or its equivalent, which is a main qualification for one to be Member of Parliament.

Jinja High Court judge Geoffrey Namundi originally threw the MP out in June last year, only for her to appeal his decision. Her troubles started after Busoga University Vice Chancellor, where she allegedly went for a degree, but the campus disowned her papers.

However, Watongola told a local radio station in an interview, that Busoga University Vice Chancellor was the chief guest at her graduation ceremony.

She now promises to return and contest in the pending by-election, since she actually went to a university, and graduated. Watongola argues her constituents know she went to school, since some of them were her classmates at campus.

The shameless arrogant Watongola says she has original authentic academic papers which she will present before the electoral commission to get her elected again.
