Troubled Nakawa member of parliament, also FDC senior member has lost his struggle to block the military court martial from trying him and other suspects claiming the court was unconstitutional and lacked jurisdiction to try civilians.

Kabaziguruka run to the High Court thinking it would save him from treachery case he and 22 others are facing if the court ruled against his trial at the army court in Makindye, under the chairmanship of Lt. Gen. Andrew Gutti.

But this morning, the legislator’s hopes were shattered by Kampala High Court Judge Patricia Wasswa Basaza who ruled that he is subject to military law by the virtue that his purported actions are connected to the army.

Kabaziguruka is charged together with 22 others on allegations of treachery and offences relating to security, by infiltrating the defense forces and engaging in war-like activities against the government.

Earlier this week, the General Court Martial Chairman Gen Gutti had made a similar ruling that Michael Kabaziguruka can legally be tried under the army court for as long his actions are connected to the army realm
