Two youth, Joseph Lukwago and Ferdinand Lutta who were arrested at parliament this morning trying to sneak in piglets will be charged with ‘common nuisance’.

Speaking to us in a phone interview, Emilian Kayima the police political commissar and spokesperson Kampala metropolitan said the duo will be charged according to the penal code act 160.

He says that the youth who subscribe to the jobless brotherhood group wrote names of members of parliament on the back of piglets which were painted yellow and blue, colors of NRM and the opposition FDC respectively.

The piglets had tags in the name of the speaker, Rebecca Kadaga, her deputy Jacob Oulanyah, the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Winnie Kiiza, Muhammad Nsereko, Kampala Central MP, Kato Lubwama, Lubaga South, Muyanja Ssenyonga, Arinaitwe Rwakajala, Workers MP, Robert Kafeero Ssekitoleko, Nakifuma County MP and the Communication Director of Parliament, Chris Obore.

Kayima says they will also look into the animal rights and see if the culprits can be charged with another case of undermining the piglets’ rights.

This is not the first time the youth have done this, although in the past only yellow pigs were carried to the prestigious house.
