There was drama in town today as city dwellers and Dr. Kiiza Besigye’s fans hit the roads to welcome him to the city as he reported at high court.
Besigye was today reporting to the High court registrar as one of the requirements for the bail he was granted 2 weeks ago by High Court judge, Justice Wilson Masalu Musene.
Besigye however told the press later that the Registrar was not in office and is attending a conference in Entebbe.
The opposition strongman says he registered in the book and was given a fresh day of August 9th to re-appear.
Shortly after this, Besigye moved to his Katonga offices, but was held on the way as his fans surrounded him giving him money, tomatoes, and other food items.
However, a group of nearly naked women were seen dancing in front of his car bending to as if show him their fat assets ‘down there.’ These were singing ‘Tumulesse, Tumulesse, Aloga Aloge’ as they escorted him.
Other supporters were seen struggling to touch his hands. Unlike other encounters, police did not involve the jovial supporters in any battles but left them to peacefully escort the former presidential candidate.
However, three motorcycles were impounded, but police was forced to return them to owners after people threatened to cause violence
