The 10th parliament has approved the appointment of Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda as Prime Minister.
262 members voted for, 3 against and 4 abstained.
A Motion for approval of Hon. Rugunda as Prime Minister was moved by Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa, and seconded by Hon. Jimmy Akena.
Nankabirwa described Rugunda as a great thinker, forthright and not up to intrigue. She quickly argues that this doesn't mean he is complacent and gullible.
Hon. Akena sent the house into cheers when he said that the only problem that people bring out about Ndugu Rugunda is that he is too good.
Hon Kaps Fungaroo told the house that Hon Rugunda has been groomed form way back, it's imperative for other leaders to groom young people.

Vetting of the newly appointed ministers starts at 2pm. The Appointment Committee of parliament will review credentials of 17 out of the 81 cabinet nominees on day one of the exercise.
