Ibrahim Abiriga, the newly elected Arua Municipality Member of parliament is in hot soup again after his former rival in the NRM party primaries for the Arua Municipality parliamentary ticket, Dickson Adomati dragged him to Arua Central Police Station on allegations of forgery.

Abiriga is accused of forging a Uganda Christian University (UCU) certificate in Public Administration and Management and another certificate of Public Administration he claims to have attained from the then Institute of Public Administration before it was changed to Uganda Management Institute.

The case was entered at Arua Central Police Station on Wednesday on the instructions of Harriet Adubango, the Arua Resident State Attorney.

Adomati argues that "It is important to note that forgery is a crime within the laws of Uganda and even though there is a petition against the MP at Arua High Court, it doesn't stop criminal proceedings against him.”

Abiriga is currently facing another suite challenging his victory from his Forum for Democratic Change-FDC rival, Bruce Charles Musema Asiki.
