The opposition Forum for democratic Change, FDC party leaders have prepared a Mega demonstration ahead of the swearing in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni, claiming he is not the rightfully elected president of Uganda.

The opposition Forum for democratic Change, FDC party leaders have prepared a Mega demonstration ahead of the swearing in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni, claiming he is not the rightfully elected president of Uganda.

Addressing party members and the press at Najjanankumbi this morning, Nathan Nandala Mafabi, the party secretary general said they will hold a countrywide demonstration, demanding an independent audit into the February 18th election.

“As a party, we have decided to hold a demonstration on 5th May 2016 which we call National Demonstration about the demand for an independent audit and Free my vote,” Mafabi said.

He added; “We are calling on all Ugandans to participate in this exercise. We are going to inform the police today, and this is our constitutional right. This demonstration will be country wide. In Kampala, we shall march from Najjanankumbi to Nakivubo, while respective distriicts will advise us on where they will hold theirs.”

President Museveni will be sworn in for another 5-year term on May 12th 2016.
