Former Forum for democratic change, FDC party presidential candidate, Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye has this morning appeared before the Kasangati grade one magistrate court.
Besigye is charged with disobeying lawful orders at Mulago round about. The FDC iron man appeared at court today in the company of some party leaders, representing himself, with no lawyer.
He then took to the dock, and denied the charges. The court later handed him a non cash bail after presenting two Sureties Tony Sempebwa, the LC 3 chairman Nangabo, and Ingrid Turinawe, who are both to pay 2 million shillings.
The magistrate, set April 27th as the date Besigye will reappear before the same court for further hearing of his case.
It is alleged that while at Mulago round about on Tuesday 5th April 2016, Besigye disobeyed orders of a police officer on duty, to use a designated route on his way to the FDC head offices in Najjanankumbi.
