The government has advised the U.S Ambassador to Uganda Ms. Deborah Malac to stop her unfair criticism of the recently concluded 2016 general elections and human rights records.

In a statement released by government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo, Ms. Malac continues to rely on what he terms as the partisan and very shallow EU report.

He adds that the US government sponsored an election observer team under the electoral institute for sustainable democracy (EISD) in Africa, through the international republican institute (IRI) Washington D.C that was led by former Zambian president Rupiah Banda which issued a report giving credit to Uganda’s elections.

“We would like to advise Ambassador Deborah Malac to carefully read the report. Unless she is giving a vote of no confidence, then she is at liberty to keep referring to and relying on the partisan and very shallow EU report” Opondo wrote.
