While commenting about how the Uganda Police has ignored Desire Mirembe — the 19-year-old Makerere University Student who was beheaded over the weekend in Lugazi where she had apparently gone to attend a Christian fellowship — murder case, Frank Gashumba says "I have credible information that the suspect in this case is treated like a groom".

Gashumba accuses Police for not paying as much attention to certain people's deaths as they do to others. So, currently, we don't treat all lives as though they matter equally. He points out the case of Joan Kagezi — who died on the way to the hospital after being shot on her way home by motorbike gunmen — and says the Police has paid so much attention to her while neglecting the other murder cases.

Gashumba also criticizes the Police for not visiting Mirembe's family and handling her case as though it's ordinary. Read his full statement below!

Frank Gashumba Criticizes Uganda Police

Gen. Kale Kayihura, you visited Joan's family and you actively participated in the investigation of all the murdered Sheikhs in Uganda, every police department was involved in finding out the suspected criminals.
Two weeks back a young girl by the name Desire Mirembe, 19 years and Second year student was slaughtered in cold blood and her body dumped in Lugazi (Sugar Plantations) No Senior police officer has visited the Late Desire's parents, Do some Ugandans have special blood?????????

It's only Desire's parents who are looking for police officers who can find the killers of their daughter.
How can such a murder be treated like an ordinary case, is it because there were No Guns used?????. How can a parent lose such an innocent young girl and police treats it like an ordinary case and i have credible information that the suspect in this case is treated like a groom.

The evidence so far we have as concerned parents 100% pins the so called "boyfriend". These are not accusations or speculations. For the moment i will stop here as far as this case is concerned.

But if Police doesn't do its work well trust me, we are going to expose it and to you fellow Ugandans, much as we appreciate your condolence messages when can we ever ask tough questions like "Who killed Desire?" , "What were the motives?" , "Did he do it alone?", " What weapon was used? " etc

What i normally see is "RIP" for Christians and for our Moslem brother & sisters they post... inallillahi wa inallillahi raghihunah
Yes Desire is gone, out focus should be more on stopping another Murder.
