Safepad Uganda, a women-led organization committed to addressing menstrual hygiene challenges in the country, is set to launch Safepad, an innovative locally crafted menstrual hygiene solution. The organization aims to empower women, create job opportunities, and eliminate period poverty in Uganda.
 
Safepad Uganda is spearheading a collaborative initiative to tackle the critical issue of period poverty in Uganda, emphasizing the pressing challenges faced by countless girls and women across the country. Despite the introduction of Safepad, a locally produced menstrual hygiene solution crafted by Ugandan women for Ugandan women, the issue persists, highlighting the need for collective action.
 
Safepad goes beyond being a product, it stands as a testament to the resilience and innovation of Ugandan women.

 Safepad Uganda CEO Trine Angeline Sig revealed that  Safepad is committed to supporting menstrual health in Uganda by creating decent jobs and empowering women through its established production center. The in-country production of reusable pads aims to make them more accessible while providing users with a high-quality and safe product.
 
The launch event is scheduled for January 25th, 2024, at the International University of East Africa. The event will include product demonstrations, expert talks on women's health, and an opportunity for attendees to experience the benefits of Safepad firsthand.
