The police in Fort Portal have retrieved the body of Bilson Musinguzi, a 17-year-old senior three student at St. Leo's College Kyegobe in Fort Portal City, who drowned in a water reservoir in Fort Portal.

Vincent Twesige, the Rwenzori West Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident and reported that the students went to the school playground for a patriotism training, but the deceased and three other students escaped to swim in an artificial water reservoir near the playground.

Although the other students tried to stop Musinguzi from entering the reservoir, he swam anyway, and a few minutes later, the other students could not see him. They ran back to school and did not tell anyone about what had happened.

Later that day, the school Bursar, Brother Charles Agaba, received a call from someone who noticed that one student was missing. During the school assembly, they discovered that Musinguzi was the missing student, and the school Head Teacher reported the case to the police.

The police fire brigade quickly retrieved the body from the water reservoir, and it was taken to Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem.
