Rwandan National strangled to death in Kyenjojo

Detectives at Kyenjojo police station have commenced investigation to the murder by strangulation of a Rwan national only identified as Alex a resident of Kisenyi village, Kamazima parish, Nyakisi sub county in Kyenjojo district.

Detectives at Kyenjojo police station have commenced investigation to the murder by strangulation of a Rwan national only identified as Alex a resident of Kisenyi village, Kamazima parish, Nyakisi sub county in Kyenjojo district.

The deceased who was dealing in distilling local booze from sugarcane was last seen alive on 25th/1/2022 at about 0700/c at Karurugu village by a woman friend identified as Kyalimpa Rodha.  

Alex later went to Kibale village where he was distilling waragi with another man only identified as Balimunyika but he didn't come back home. 

However, after three days, Kyalimpa tried to reach him through his known phone number he did not pickup calls. 

Unfortunately, on 2/2/2022 at about 5 pm, one Turyatemba Habert had gone to fetch water where the deceased had a sugar cane plantation when he saw a heap flies.

Drawing closer, Turyatemba discovered that the flies were surrounding the body of Alex which had been covered with sugarcane. He immediately informed the chairman of Kibale village who also reported the matter to Katooke police.  

ASP Vincent Twesige the PRO Rwenzori region says Police visited the scene, retrieved the body and took it for examined at Kyenjojo Hospital where the postmortem report was obtained, indicating the deceased was strangled to death using a bed sheet.

The body is currently in the mortuary as authorities await Alex’s relatives to pick it for burial.

No arrests have been done so far and inquiries are at hand.
