The Police at Njeru are investigating an accident that led to the loss of two lives at Kitigoma village along Jinja - Kampala highway in Buikwe District,
The accident which occurred at around 9:00PM on Wednesday evening claimed the lives of two unidentified male adults who died moments after being rushed to the hospital.
Six (06) other passengers who are also yet to be identified, were severely injured and rushed to Jinja hospital for treatment.
ASP Nampiima Faridah PRO Traffic and Road Safety Directorate says the accident involved two motor vehicles reg. No. UAT 279J Tata Truck white in colour and UBH 683E a Toyota Hiace white in colour.
According to Nampiima, it is alleged that the Toyota Hiace which was being driven by an unidentified driver lost control and rammed in to the Tata Truck also white in colour from behind.
Both vehicles were heading towards Jinja from Kampala side.
She urged drivers to be cautious on the road and drive carefully especially during this season when people are returning from villages and schools are planning to open.
