Former Forum for Democratic Change-FDC party parliamentary candidate for Kasese Municipality in the 2021 elections race has quit the party after being suspended.

Gideon Sanyu Ntabose’s suspension was announced by the FDC Secretary General Hon. Nathan Nandala Mafabi in a statement issued on Monday.

In his statement, Mafabi said Ntabose was engaging in activities that are hostile to the Party which is against their constitution. Mafabi added that the suspension would run until further notice.

Now, Ntabose who is also the former Kasese District Vice Chairperson has announced that he has joined the National Resistance Movement Party-NRM.

He described FDC’s decision as a personal witch-hunt arguing that a number of members including the FDC's vice-chairperson for Western Region William Nzoghu campaigned for independent candidates contrary to the Party’s constitution.

Ntabose says these members have never been summoned to that effect.

He further attributes his election loss in the elections to party members who openly de-campaigned him on grounds of being a non-Mukonzo, but he is surprised that the party did not take action against them.

His suspension, Ntabose adds, has been orchestrated by some party members from Kasese.
