A joint team of security operatives have killed four men, suspected to have been plotting subversive activities in Uganda, from Ntoroko District.

It is alleged that the four are part of the Allied Democratic Forces-ADF who were intercepted on Wednesday evening at Kisenge Trading Centre along the Fort Portal-Bundibugyo Road in Ntoroko District.

According to Mesearch Kawamara the Ntoroko Resident District Commissioner, a joint security team first intercepted the suspects but they tried to physically engage them, leading to their shooting.

All four bodies were taken to Fort Portal Regional referral hospital for a postmortem. The RDC added that Ntoroko and Bundibugyo District security teams have been working jointly following reports that some ADF rebels were entering the country under the guise of asylum seekers.

Security teams in the district arrested 14 suspected rebels on Sunday and Monday, while another 11- all suspected to belong to the ADF rebel group were arrested in Bundibugyo and Ntoroko Districts.

The suspects were picked from Bubukwanga transit camp and Rwamabale screening points. Asiimwe Banji the Bundibugyo RDC says security in the district has been heightened following the development.

This comes a day after two suspected bombs went off  in the capital Kampala leaving six people dead and more than 30 injured. The bombers are linked to ADF.
