Former Minister for Primary Education Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde, has welcomed her appointment as the National Resistance Movement- NRM Director for Mobilization, Training and Cadre Development.

Seninde is one of the Ministers who lost their Parliamentary seats in the 2021 election, to NUP candidates. She, in particular lost the Wakiso Woman Member of Parliament seat to NUP’s Betty Naluyima, ending her 20-year grip on the district ever since its creation in 2000.

Seninde has now been appointed as a replacement for Mathias Kasamba who died early this year.

Speaking after receiving news of her new appointment, said her appointment is confirmation that her party still has confidence in her.

The former minister promises to spend a lot of energy in finding out why her party performed decimally in some places and together with other leaders come up with measures to reverse their misfortune.

Meanwhile, the Wednesday CEC meeting also approved the appointment of Richard Todwong as the party’s Secretary-General replacing Kasule Justine Lumumba who was appointed minister, Rose Namayanja Nsereko as the deputy Secretary General replacing Todwong, and Barbra Nekesa Oundo as the party Treasury.

CEC also approved names of the chairpersons, deputy chairpersons and members of the parliamentary standing and session committees. It also directed the NRM Electoral Commission to start the process of expression of interest for the by-election of the East African Legislative Assembly seat that was left vacant after the death of Kasamba.
