Democratic Party Presidential candidate Norbert Mao has promised to reconcile all Ugandans and stop tribal hatred.

While addressing the press after his nomination at Kyambogo grounds on Tuesday afternoon, Mao said that in the DP government, wrong doers shall be blamed as individuals but not dragging other people from the same region along.

Mao also promised that they will reclaim the future of Uganda from those who have robbed it, and that whoever has lost anything in the past shall be aided to reclaim it.

“Whether you are talking about ‘Ebyaffe’ we shall reclaim it, whether you talking about your stolen cattle we shall reclaim it, our cooperatives we shall reclaim them, the Banks that were sold off we shall reclaim them, the national companies, we shall reclaim them and public houses we shall reclaim them” Mao said.

He urged all Ugandans to not pick up machetes or use violence to fight over land or other properties that have been stolen from them, because the cornerstone of the DP manifesto is that the moment they take office, they will set up what is known as the stolen assets recovery tribunal.

“We shall appoint qualified judges to sit in a tribunal where you will report anything that has been stolen from you. Whether it is your kibanja, your house, name it. The tribunal will adjudicate and ensure justice” Mao added.

Mao says they want those who have wronged Ugandans to repent and be healed, so the nation can receive healing.
