The police in Bududa have in custody a woman accused of killing her husband in cold blood following an argument.
Irene Nabifo, a resident of Bubiino village in Bushiribo sub-county, Bududa district allegedly killed her husband, Sowed Wekoye Jabi, 76, around 2 a.m in the wee hours of Monday.
According to Michael Watira the LCI Chairperson Bubiino village, the suspect called for help at around 2 a.m claiming her husband had a problem. The chairman immediately mobilised community members to respond to the matter, only to find the deceased lying in a pool of blood
The Elgon Region Police Spokesperson John Tukei Robert says that Nabifo was arrested thereafter to explain circumstanmces under which her husband lost his life and was yet recorded a statement by the time of filing this story.
The deceased’s body has been handed over to Bududa hospital mortuary for autopsy as police searches for the probable weapon used and other inquiries in the matter will follow.
