The Uganda Police Force are searching on of their own, Canan Idudi Kisambira, a Traffic Police officer attached to Mbirizi Police Station in Lwengo district who allegedly hacked his girlfriend and left him for dead.

Idudi hacked his lover, Justine Muganga, a resident of Nyendo town council in Masaka district and phone dealer on November 1st before taking off with her vehicle registration Number UAQ 517X.

According to police reports, the suspect left Nyendo town council along with the victim on November 1, 2019 to buy new phones in Kenya.

The couple however made a stopover at Kisambira’s home in Kadimokoli Sub County in Budaka district for a rest before resuming their journey the next day. It is however reported that the couple didn’t reach their planned destination as Kisambira reportedly hacked Muganga at Sekulo village in Budaka and left her for dead.

Sekulo parish LC II chairperson Patrick Kunyile, says a Good Samaritan found Muganga bleeding and rushed her to Mbale Regional Referral Hospital where she is nursing injuries.

Wilson James Salam the Budaka District Police Commander says they have since recovered Muganga’s vehicle while Kisambira is still at large. He is suspected to have fled to Kenya.

Once arrested, Kisambira will be charged with robbery, theft and attempted murder.
