Properties worth Millions of Shillings have been destroyed after fire gutted an administration block of Rugarama School of Nursing and Midwifery.
According to available reports, the fire which is believed to have razed the building at around 6:00 a.m this morning, started from a stationery room.
The School’s Guild President Cyrus Tusiime says the fire destroyed stationery, graduation gowns, gloves and the ceiling. According to Tusiime, their efforts to put off the fire were fruitless because they have two small fire extinguishers.
Head of Police Fire Brigade Department in- charge of Kigezi sub-region Moses Muhanguzi told Howwe.Biz that police fire brigade managed to put off the fire before spreading to other buildings.
Adding that it is too early to establish the cause of the fire. The institution administration has now been ordered not to use the building until police is assured of its safety.
