There was drama on Tuesday morning when police in Kampala intercepted a passenger taxi with 15 goats suspected to have been stolen.

There was drama on Tuesday morning when police in Kampala intercepted a passenger taxi with 15 goats suspected to have been stolen. 

According to Patrick Onyango the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, the passenger taxi registration number UBB 395K was intercepted along Kampala Road about 1:00am.

They also arrested the driver, Richard Ssenyange and conductor, Richard Mukiibi. 

Upon interrogation, the driver told police that they had bought the goats from Kisenyi market and were transporting them to Buvuma Island.

The suspects are currently locked up at Central Police Station –CPS Kampala on tentative charges of animal theft. Onyango appeals to whoever could have lost his goats to go to CPS with proof.
