Drama Ensued in Court today when jailed Makerere Don, Stella Nyanzi shocked the Magistrate, other Court officials, media and members of the public who had come for her sentencing by undressing.
Nyanzi went all swords out when the magistrate sentenced her to 18 months in jail for offensive communication and cyber harassment of President Yoweri Museveni.
On Thursday, High Court dismissed an application in which Nyanzi wanted the lower court proceedings quashed. The former Makerere Don had filed the application through her lawyers Julius Galisonga, Isaac Ssemakadde and Derrick Bazekuketta, accusing the trial Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu of expressing bias towards their client when she closed the case without her defence.
Dr. Nyanzi was on Thursday convicted of cyber harassment of President Museveni. She was acquitted of the offensive communication charge.
This afternoon however, the Magistrate announced an 18 months jail sentence for Dr. Nyanzi. This did not go down well with the good Don who became angry, cursed the magistrate and undressed before wiggling her boobs all over the camera.
She appeared before court via video conference. However, since Nyanzi already served 9 months on remand, she will serve 9 more to complete her sentence.
The crowd, full of feminists, opposition members and her online fans ululated as she stripped in front of the Camera, while the magistrate looked on in disbelief.
Also, three prisons guarding Nyanzi looked on and did not at any point try to stop her. This is not the first time she has stripped naked in front of cameras.
