Police in Omoro district is looking for unknown assailants who hacked to death a man last night.
The victim is identified as Innocent Kony 26, a resident of Abwoga Tegali village in Ongako Sub County. According to available reports, the suspected thugs waylaid Kony and hit him on the head with a blunt object twice at around 9:00 pm while he was riding back to his village home.
According to the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson Jimmy Patrick Okema, the victim was rushed to St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor for treatment but died shortly after health workers tried to save his life.
The assailants also vanished with deceased’s brand-new motorcycle registration number UEX 590W. Theft of motorcycles has been skyrocketing in Aswa river region.
Last month, in Gulu, two motorcycle riders also lost their lives after thugs hacked them to death at night under similar circumstances.
