Julius Mughuma, an assistant commissioner in- charge of Urban Planning in Kasese is behind bars over allegations of defilement.
Mughuma was arrested by police at Kisinga Sub County on Wednesday and transferred to Kasese Central Police Station on Thursday.
This came after the suspect was allegedly arrested at Bella Guest House in Kisinga Town Council having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl.
Vincent Mwesigye, the Rwenzori East Regional Police Commander says police are still carrying out investigations on the matter but declined to give details about the case.
“We are still investigating and giving the details of such a case can either implicate or exonerate the suspect." he said.
