Six motor vehicles allegedly stolen from different parts of the country have been recovered by operatives from the police Flying Squad. According to Luke Owoyesigire the Kampala metropolitan police spokesperson, the vehicles were recovered from different parts of Kampala and Wakiso District.

They are said to have been stolen in the last four months.

These are; a Corona white in color Reg. no. UAH 815Q, a taxi registration number UBA 923A, a Corona Grey in Colour Reg. No. UAJ 716N, another Corona silver in color Reg.No.  UAK 767S and two other numberless cars found in areas of Lubiri, Katoke, Nansana and Matugga.

The development comes after Flying Squad operatives receive intelligence information that the three suspected robbers were going to sell one of the stolen vehicles; Corona UAH 815Q in Lubiri. Police followed the tip and arrested Paul Lubega, Abubaker Nkata and Ivan Kaya.

Owoyesigire says that it was during the interrogation that the suspects who had been found in possession of two vehicles confessed to stealing many vehicles and selling them to people that would in turn take them out of the country as well as those cutting them into spares.

They then led officers to the different areas where the other stolen vehicles were being hidden.  There is still hope that many more vehicles will be recovered.
