Eron Kiiza, the lawyer of Eddie Ssebufu, detained bodyguard of Kyaddondo East Legislator Robert Kyagulanyi has written to the Director of Criminal Investigations Department demanding for his client's release.

Eron Kiiza, Ssebufu's lawyer wrote to AIGP Grace Akullo the Director CID, on September 6th 2018, demanding that his client be released unconditionally.

"We refer to the caption matter wherein we represent Eddie Mutwe otherwise known as Eddie Ssebufu. He has been in detention since August, 25th, 2010. He remains detained at Jinja Road Police Station to date" Kiiza wrote.

According to the lawyer's documents, whereas associating with Bobi Wine is not a case; the officers have happily and insensitively continued to detain Mutwe beyond 48 hours which violates his constitutional right to fair hearing and denial of personal liberty. The police are also accused of disrespecting the High Court's order to produce Ssebufu in court.

"Whereas High Court on 30th August 2018 ordered his production in court on September, 4th, 2018 you ignored the order only to mislead the Attorney General and the Honorable court that Eddie Mutwe was on his way to Gulu for arraignment before a competent court. The said lie is on court record" the document reads. Counsel Eron argues that should the police fail to release Sebuufu, legal action will be taken.

Eddie Mutwe was arrested/kidnapped by security agents from Semakokiro Plaza in Kamwokya on Saturday, August 25,  2018.

They took him to an unknown place where he had been held incommunicado until recently when they brought him to Police Special Investigations Unit in Kireka moments after Justice Musa Sekaana ordered security agencies to produce him in Court. He is currently being held at Jinja Road Police Station.
