There were dramatic scenes this morning at Nakawa chief magistrate’s court when a suspected released on bail rushed to take a boda boda and disappear for fear of being re-arrested.

Ahmed Ssenfuka, one of the men accused of murdering former police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi was last year released by the same court on bail, only to be re-arrested by police officers and charged with terrorism

This morning, Ssenfuka turned up at court after satisfying Noah Ssajabi, the Nakawa grade one magistrate that he was eligible to receive bail. Upon release, the suspect sat on a boda boda outside court and without wasting time, rushed to board his lawyer Anthony Wameli’s car, which was parked at a distance.

Counsel Wameri while speaking to the press after court said this was done to protect his client from getting re-arrested like the previous time.

Ssenfuka’s relatives burst into tears of joy, upon his release. The suspect told members of the press that his release was by the grace of God. He also thanked his family for standing by his side and contributing bail money to get him out of Luzira.

An excited Ssenfuka further thanked the media for publicizing his case especially when he was re-arrested by plain clothed security agents.
Counsel Wameri said one more person has been added on the charge shit. Yusf Ahmed Hilali has been in Nalufenya for over 9 months.

According to Wameli, Hilali was charged last week on Friday with confessing to belong to a terrorist group. Other suspects are; Ali Mugoya, Hibwaji, Kaala and Umaru Maganda.

Case was adjourned to March 6th 2018.
