In a dramatic revelation, young men in the Karamoja sub region have complained to the ministry of health about small sizes of condoms, urging the responsible body to find them bigger sizes.

The youth claim small sizes distributed in their area slide off during bonking sessions which is uncomfortable and denies them satisfaction with partners.

These aired out their frustration during an HIV/AIDS meeting that was held last week on Wednesday, at Rupa gold mining site in the district of Moroto.

According to a 24 year Lokol Simon, health officials have been distributing small, short and very tight condoms forcing men to abandon them, and eat things as live as Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. The very frustrated youth added that the rubbers do not stretch to the last part of their mingling sticks.

They want the condom manufacturers to make bigger sizes that will cover entire length of their sticks.

But this is not the first time such a complaint has been made. In 2014,  the members of Parliament on the parliamentary committee on HIV/AIDS discussed the issue, noting that it was important to listen to the complaints, as condom use prevents HIV infection. “Some youth are complaining that the condoms they are being given, some of them are too short, their organs can’t fit in them,” Merard Bitekyerezo, a former Mbarara municipality legislator told the house.

MPs warned that condoms that don’t fit properly could raise the risk for HIV infection among the population.

Another legislator Alero Tom Aza, the then West Moyo County MP said; “People around these areas have bigger sexual organs, and therefore should be considered for bigger condoms. When it comes to action, when they’re having sexual activity, of course with the pressure, [the condom] bursts.”

This problem has been reported in the districts of Nakapiripirit, Amudat and Kotido. Health experts however say the condoms are made to standard to fit everyone, adding that the challenge is that youth rush in action while wearing rubber.
