Eight Kaweesi murder Suspects sent to High Court for trial

At least 8 of the 23 suspects in the murder case of former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Andrew Felix Kaweesi, have been committed to the High Court for trial.

At least 8 of the 23 suspects in the murder case of former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Andrew Felix Kaweesi, have been committed to the High Court for trial.

The suspects include; Abdul Rashid Mbaziira, Araman Higenyi, Yusuf Mugerwa, Bruhan Balyejusa, Joshua Kyambadde, Jibril Kalyango, Yusuf Nyanzi and Shafik Kasujja.

They were sent to High Court by Nakawa Grade One Magistrate, Noah Ssajjabi.

Kaweesi was on the morning of March 17th 2017 murdered alongside his bodyguard Kenneth Erau and driver Geoffrey Mambewa, meters away from his home in Kulambiro, Nakawa division.

23 people have since been arrested in connection to the case, and a different versions of stories written on why and who could have killed him.

Prosecution alleges that the accused used a gun or any other weapon and robbed Erau of a rifle SMG and a pistol. It is also states that the accused rendered support to Bruhan Balyejusa, Jimmy Ogutu and Noordin alias Taata Abudal-razak in executing terrorism.
