Body of the late Moroto Woman MP Annie Logiel has arrived at Parliament ahead of today’s special sitting in her honour.

Logiel, 48, died on February 14th in Denmark, where she had been taken for an operation to remove a tumor on her brain. 

According to the programme on the proceedings of the special sitting of parliament, a requiem mass was held this morning at Christ the King Church in Kampala and there after the body was taken to parliament where it was received by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and placed in the lobby ahead of public viewing.

At 2:00pm, proceedings of parliament to pay tribute to the late MP are expected to commence with Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda as the mover of the motion. The body will leave for Moroto district where burial is to take place on Sunday, February 26th. 

Dr. John Baptist Lokii, the Matheniko MP who doubles as the chairperson of the burial committee, said there will be a special sitting of the Moroto district council to eulogise the departed legislator. 

Logiel, a first-term legislator in the 10th parliament, was born on 27th March 1968.
