The Uganda Police Force has vowed to block the unlawful enthronement of Prince David Kijanangoma as King of Tooro.

Kijanangoma, a member of the Tooro royal family, declared himself king and has vowed to take over the throne in April this year from the King Oyo.

Kijanangoma promised he would oust his cousin, Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, from the main palace, Karuziika, and requested the Batooro to rally behind him in a pursuit for change in the kingdom.

He accuses the 24-year-old Oyo of failing to steer the kingdom and wants him to relinquish the throne. Now police warns that Kijanangoma's declaration is bringing chaos in Tooro, noting that this will not be allowed.

Police spokesperson Andrew Felix Kaweesi says police is set to stop the actions adding that no one can just wake up one day and declare that he will be king.

George Kamurasi Rukidi III, risks facing the law in case he attempts to impose himself on the throne. He says police is closely monitoring his actions.
